Youth Shelters and Family Services is a private, nonprofit, community-based organization incorporated in 1980, which provides shelter, transitional housing, and street outreach to homeless youth and comprehensive mental health services to children, youth and families in Northern New Mexico.

Our new location can be found at: 5686 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, NM 87507. Click here for a map.

To find us continue west from our old location on Airport Rd. 1.4 miles to San Felipe. Turn right and drive 0.4 miles. Our building will be on the right next door to the Youth Shelter.

Finding Safety: Camron’s Story
For Camron, YSFS’ La Casa Libertad Transitional Living Program offered safety and the chance to begin a new life. Camron left home, and an abusive stepmother, a year ago. “If I hadn’t come here I’d probably be on the streets,” conjectures Camron, who got his first black eye at the age of five. More >>


Living Independently: Jasmine’s Story
When asked to identify the greatest challenge facing young people growing up in Santa Fe, Jasmine, age 21, is quick to point to the high cost of living.

“Getting out on your own is tough,” emphasizes Jasmine, who left home, and a difficult childhood, at 14. Since then, she’s worked hard at a variety of jobs, obtained a GED, married, had a child, divorced, and completed several college courses. More >>

 

Homeless Services Serving homeless, runaway, and street youth and their families, as well as young people who are at risk of being homeless.
